Ruffino Wine Dinner w/ Chef Alec Schuler of Tangerine & Arugula

Chef/Proprietor Alec Schuler & the Tangerine Teams bring you another one of our fabulous Wine Dinners!!!*

Background on Ruffino Wine:
Established near Florence in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, and winning international awards since the 1880’s, these wines express the history and heritage of Italy. The three red wines we selected are from the heart of Ruffino, Tuscany. One classic and two showing great contemporary flair with high percentages of international varietals. Ruffino has expanded their reach throughout Italy, displayed in our white and rose selections, which are from Friuli and Veneto regions. Experts from RNDC wine distributors will be on hand to educate, inform and lead guests through each wine.

And now for the Tantalizing Menu…

1st Course:
Seared sea scallop over celeriac puree with frisee, asparagus, fennel and apple salad with pine nut-herb vinaigrette
Borgo Conventi, Sauvignon Blanc (100%), Collio DOC, Friuli-Venezia Giulia 2017

2nd Course:
Seared pork belly over creamy polenta with charred broccolini and root beer-vanilla gastrique
Ruffino, Il Ducale (45% Sangiovese, 40% Merlot, 15% Syrah), Toscana IGT 2016

3rd Course:
Carnaroli rice risotto with braised short rib, carrot, parsnip and tarragon; topped with purple cabbage salad
Ruffino, Modus (34% Sangiovese, 33% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon), Toscana IGT 2015

4th Course:
Rosemary grilled lamb T-bone, pistachio gremolata, charred radicchio, brown butter roasted red potatoes
Ruffino, Chianti Classico, Riserva Ducale (80% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon), Toscana DOCG 2014

Dessert:
“Eton Mess” – fresh berries, broken meringue, whipped cream and dark chocolate
Ruffino, Sparkling Rose (Glera with small amounts of Pinot Noir), Veneto NV
