First Friday: Naomi’s Glass Art & Many Mountains Music
February 1 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Our First Fridays every month feature a local artist and their works that will hang on our walls for the entire month. Plus, we liven up the event with specially selected music. The artist is on site 5-9pm, and the music plays 6-8pm.
About February’s Artist:
Naomi Edelberg Janches has spent over two decades translating the earth, sky, and oceans into flowing glass images. Fluidity on a rigid medium is her signature style, along the combination of colors fused together. Her glass art has been installed worldwide as entryway, windows, doors, walls, furniture, and hangings – in public and private realms. You can see examples of Naomi’s one-of-a-kind glass works at the Nederland Community Library, National Science Foundation, and Fort Lewis College. While traveling the world and experiencing different environments, she strives to interpret extreme natural phenomena through glass creations. Naomi rarely displays multiple art glass pieces in an exhibit, so we feel privileged to share our space with her.
About the Band:
Many Mountains is a Colorado Folk-Rock Duo. Delivering a kaleidoscope of sound, their original songs are interlaced with rich vocal harmonies and married instruments. Dustin adds textured and ambient electric guitar, often improvising with a jazzy temperance, over Katie Rose’s rhythmic acoustic style. The sonic landscape they create will bring you on a journey over and through Many Mountains.
