First Friday w/ Jessica Moon & Strangebyrds
March 2 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
It’s another First Friday by The Clock Tower Collective, where there is something for everyone!
About the Artist:
Jessica Moon (Bernstein-Schiano) spent many years living in Eldora and teaching at Ned Elementary. Her mixed media pieces are influenced by world travels, living in Mongolia, and spending time away from the classroom in the outdoors. Her works are a response to the effects of globalization on the natural environment and ethnic cultures. By employing discarded materials into her pieces, she points out that recycling is a way to mitigate the disturbing amount of waste created by mass production and consumerism. She creates thought-provoking and humorous 2D works, sculptures, and installations which often comment on globalization and climate change. Her paintings and mixed media work are bright and engaging. Viewers will see the power of mountains, animals, and natural environments that she brings to light with a gift of combining color, lines, and depth.
About the Music:
Strangebyrds is made up of Ned locals Cari Minor & Ray Smith. Their blue collar folk style can also be described as edgy indie-folk. This couple’s synergy can be felt through well-honed harmonies and spot-on guitar playing. They captivate onlookers with their voices, lyrics, and passion. We love having them play here! They’ll be live 6-8pm.
